Assistant Manager - HR, CSR and Communications

Crescent Steel and Allied Products Limited is a multi-business organization spread over four campuses with over 500 employees.
We are currently seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced professional to join our Head Office team as Assistant Manager – HR, CSR and Communications. The role is responsible for supporting key Human Resources functions while leading the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and internal and external communications. The ideal candidate will possess strong HR knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to driving people-focused initiatives, enhancing employee engagement, and strengthening the organization's brand and social impact.

Job Description

Human Resource (HR):

  1. Collaborate with Line Managers and BU Heads to develop and implement HR strategies that support current and future business needs.
  2. Support workforce planning and talent pipeline development while reviewing and recommending headcount and HR budget allocations.
  3. Manage end-to-end HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, and separations.
  4. Prepare and monitor the annual HR and Employee Engagement budgets; track monthly spending and variances.
  5. Develop and implement HR policies, systems, and procedures ensuring full compliance with labor laws or governing bodies.
  6. Maintain accuracy in HR data, transactions, headcounts, and metrics, including regular dashboard reporting to senior management and the Board.
  7. Advise, coach, and support employees and managers on people matters, handling grievances and soliciting feedback to address workforce needs.
  8. Assist in building and delivering training opportunities that meet performance and development needs.
  9. Oversee annual HR activity calendars and ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
  10. Coordinate and facilitate HR audits (internal and external).
  11. Facilitate employee exit interviews and recommend strategies for improved retention.
  12. Monitor and report HR KPIs, dashboards, and annual service delivery performance.
  13. Support Line Managers with capacity building in HR-related functions such as performance reviews, interviews, budgeting, and training needs assessments.
  14. Execute any special assignments or strategic projects as assigned by management.
  15. Represent the company externally with universities, recruitment partners, training institutions, consultants, and auditors

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):

  1. Develop and execute the company’s CSR strategy, annual plans, and targets in alignment with business goals.
  2. Design, plan, implement, and monitor sustainability and CSR programs while maintaining the annual CSR calendar.
  3. Develop and manage the annual CSR budget with effective tracking and control.
  4. Assist in developing the company’s Sustainability section of the Annual Report in coordination with departmental heads.
  5. Track and report monthly CSR spending and initiative performance.

Corporate Communications:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive internal and external communication strategies.
  2. Design annual communication plans and ensure alignment with corporate branding and positioning.
  3. Manage internal communications tools such as newsletters, official announcements, and engagement platforms.

  • Proficient in developing, updating, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and local labor laws.
  • Skilled in identifying training needs, designing learning programs, and measuring their effectiveness.
  • Familiar with HR reporting tools and dashboards; hands-on experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and Power BI.
  • Experience in organizing CSR campaigns, outreach events, awareness drives, and employee engagement activities.
  • Comfort with Excel and data dashboards to track metrics, prepare progress reports, and inform strategy decisions.
  • Ability to prepare, monitor, and manage CSR budgets and ensure cost-effective program delivery.
  • Proficiency in measuring program outcomes, conducting impact assessments, and compiling sustainability reports (e.g., GRI, SDGs alignment).
  • Skills in mapping, engaging, and managing relationships with NGOs, media, government bodies, and local communities.
  • Ability to develop engaging campaigns, unique program ideas, and fresh approaches to communication and employee involvement.
